The Dreaming is our debut performance - a multidisciplinary journey that invites audiences into imaginal experiences of Dartmoor while awakening our collective and playful relationship with the wild world.

The Story

Four women enter a dreamscape, each carrying her own relationship with the moor, her own way of moving through the world. Together, they create a rich tapestry of experience that spans physical theatre, music, clowning, dance, ritual, storytelling, puppetry, and fashion. This is not a linear narrative but a dream-like journey that moves between joy and sorrow, wildness and tenderness, ancient wisdom and contemporary struggle.

The Process

The Dreaming was devised over 18 months through place-based improvisation on Dartmoor. Rather than creating work in a studio and then performing it, we allowed the landscape itself to shape our creative process. We gathered regularly on the moor, letting the granite tors, the shifting weather, the ancient pathways inform our movement, our songs, our stories.

This deep listening to place created performance that feels alive with the spirit of Dartmoor while speaking to universal themes of connection, transformation, and what it means to be human in relationship with the natural world.

  • This was the most beautiful, fun, creative, epic performance I have ever seen!

    Emily

  • This performance was creative, moving, funny and both ecologically and artistically inspiring.

    Ella

  • What a glorious feast for the wild spirit. Feeling topped up and inspired by this animist whirlwind with the land, sea and sky.

    El Herndlhofer

  • A unique exploration into our relationship with the ecologies we live with and amongst. Grounded in deep reverence whilst also offering political questions about how deeply connected the exploitations of women and the earth are.
